    Across Lake Champlain, in Westport, New York, Steph Larsen and her husband Noah settled with their yaks four years ago. The couple came from Montana, but more frequent and powerful wildfires sent them east in 2017.

    They now run Raven Moon Yaks, where they specialize in raising yaks. "The animals honestly love it because the grass is so much lusher here than it was in Montana," Steph said.
